MSR's Second Saturday Reading Series, Charlotte, NC. Held in the Main Street Rag Offices, Suite G-3, 4614 Wilgrove-Mint Hill Road in the Wilgrove Business Center. Featured readers: Doug Robarchek, former columnist for The Charlotte Observer will be here to read from his new book of poems: The Best of the World's Worst Poetry. Think contemporary Ogden Nash with a touch of crass. Joining him will be Richard Taylor, outgoing president of the Charlotte Writers' Club, author of Something to Read on the Plane, and one of the editors for KAKALAK. The current issue, KAKALAK 2008, will debut (for sale) at this event. Open mike follows. This is a Book Release Party for Irene Blair Honeycutt and Scott Owens. Scott's new book, The Fractured World, is actually scheduled for a late August release. Irene's new book, Before the Light Changes, isn't actually scheduled for release until the Monday after this event--so this is its world debut. We're expecting a large crowd for this event, so we encourage folks to come early to get a good seat (since we only have 35).
